With a proven successful design from the beginning, the integration of a set of tweezers, a powerful LCR-meter, and a small display makes Smart Tweezers the ultimately handy tool for working with Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Unlike conventional testers, Smart Tweezers is easily held in one hand, leaving the other free for taking notes or holding other tools, and requires little to no set-up with fully automatic evaluations.
The newest model, the ST5, features designated ESR measurements, component sorting and continuity and diode testing, with a basic accuracy of 0.2%, an estimated 6 times higher basic accuracy than previous models. The mechatronic design of the device allows for very low, well defined parasitics that are simply removed using the semi-automatic offset subtraction. The device, after slight setting-up, will remove the parasitics, allowing for measurements as low as 1 picofarad and 1 milliohm for resistance and capacitance, and to a fraction of microhenry for inductance.
